This tank is almost done. Seems like forever! Tonight, I clecoed the Z brackets into position, mixed a batch of sealant and went at it.
The usual process of cleaning the area and rivets with acetone, and I placed a nice layer on the back of the Z bracket, 2 clecoes in place to hold it and twirled the 42-H's in sealant and used the modified pop riveter to set them in place.
The outboard Z bracket was an easy task with the squeezer. The inboard Z bracket was brutal. Had to use an offset with the rivet gun and sure enough, I slipped of the rivet and mashed the head. Out comes the drill and of course, rivet shavings are getting into the proseal...Quite a mess for one rivet. After cleaning everything up, the rivets were set and all of the heads for the Z brackets were covered and the edges smoothed over.
Have to work tomorrow night, so I'll finish off the skins Thursday night.
